National Trust - Fine Farm Produce Cymraeg

Ochr Cefn Isa free range eggs is situated on Ochr Cefn Isa family farm on the National Trust 'Tir Ifan' estate on the upper reaches of the Conwy Valley. It is a traditional hill farm stocking a flock of pedigree Lleyn sheep and hens.

Our hens have the freedom to naturally range across the farmland creating their own natural habitat on land which is rich in vegetation with trees, hedges and stone walls providing natural shelter for the hens.

The hens are housed in traditional wooden sheds, with no mechanical or intensive production methods used. All husbandry duties are lovingly carried out by the Ochr Cefn Isa family, ensuring the highest possible hen welfare, resulting in happy and contented hens producing eggs of the highest quality. Eggs are hand collected daily and then graded and packed in the packing room on the farm.

High quality feed is essential for good tasty eggs, that's why we use only the best quality for our hens, which does not contain any genetically improved cereals.

Freedom Food - R.S.P.C.A. Monitored

The hens, sheds and production method have been fully inspected and approved by the R.S.P.C.A., government animal health and the environmental health who visit the farm regularly to maintain and create a good working relationship.

National Trust - Fine Farm Produce

In 2010 we were awarded the prestigious National Trust 'Fine Farm Produce Award' which is awarded to the highest quality food producers. The judging panel look at all aspects of production, environment, husbandry and animal health. The eggs were thoroughly inspected as well as being cooked and tasted. Here are some comments from the judging panel on our award winning eggs:

"Smooth clean shells with rich coloured yolks, creaminess and freshness"

Try them for yourself, you can taste the free range freshness!
